The Best Ranger Competition 2013 is a grueling 3 day event held at Fort Benning, GA April 12-15 2013. The competition is regarded as the Ranger Olympics and is designed to test the mental and physical stamina and tactical and technical skills of the competitors over the course of 60 hours with very little rest between events. The competitors will not know the order or distances of each event so there is no way to develop a strategy.
This torturous competition will include long distance ruck marches, a grenade assault course, a night time land navigation exercise, rifle shooting with moving targets, water confidence tests, a helicopter jump and the mother of all obstacle courses- The Darby Queen. This titanic challenge is not for the weakhearted.
The National Guard is represented by 4 competitors. Over the course of the competition our Guard Rangers will be pushed to the limits of their physical and mental toughness. It will put their will and grit through the ultimate test of perseverance and determination.
